Refinishing daggerboard

can the daggerboard be covered with cloth and resin? (wood board). rule 3.2.3 says yes, and then rule 3.2.5 says it is prohibited. I am refinishing and the cloth cannot be seen once applied. Thanks

The diagrams seem to have disappeared, but figure 4 is the new (ie: available for the past 20 years) glass/foam board (and now the factory is making some of that shape in wood) and that one cannot be covered with anything. Looks like the wording should be updated.

Anyway, even with a covering, the classic wood board, figures 1 and 3, is not competitive with the modern board.

Thanks, its probably as competitive as I am right now, just wanted to keep it legal if possible
