New Rudder?

My rudder split open again after installing 2 stainless rods. Guess the glue did not hold? Thinking of buying a new FRP rudder from Intensity Sails for about $100.00 Any advice is appreciated. Sail for pleasure only. Thanks John

Alan Glos sells refinished wooden ones from time to time - see this post:

for about the same price, though, I'd probably just get the FRP one from Intensity Sails, especially if you aren't a racer. I don't have the FRP rudder, but I did get the FRP daggerboard from Intensity Sails last summer - it is quite nice. I'm sure the rudder is of similar excellent quality.

cheers,

The Intensity FRP ones look like a good deal for $100.

Via Craigslist, I noticed there also was a guy down on Cape Cod who was selling his own craft-made old style wooden ones, in case anyone out there is also in the market.

From the outside looking in, these looking pretty well made - looks like he crafted them out of one solid piece of wood.
