Asked, "What's on your mind", I think of seeing winds mightily darkening the far end of the lake and turning my Sunfish around to "make a run for it"!

What could I have done better to prevent folding my mast and ripping my racing sail's foot almost it's full length? What's a lesson here...what have you done?

I should have gybed, dropped the sail, and used my skills to sail "bare pole".

Roll it inverted and wait out the blow. OR. Head for the closest shore or shelter and stand on the beach.

Most storm squalls are over quickly.

I was undamaged, but the rig took a beating from the 15-minute "cell".
