Hello all, I grew up sailing lasers and sunfish as a kid and would like to buy a used laser now as an adult. I've found a used 2007 laser that looks great but the current owner says it has some slight damage due to a broken dolly during storage.. Can any of you more experienced gentlemen speculate as to the extent of this damage by some photos? Is this just the gel coat that is cracked or am I looking at a deep grind out and repair? I'm kind of concerned with what kind of flexing occurred to crack the gel coat that much.

Hard to tell from the pictures. I'd try pushing on either side of what looks like a crack in the pics. If the 2 sides appear to move independently from each other when you push, I'd be more inclined to think the damage is deeper. The other think I'd definitely do, is put some water in the boat + tip it so the water sits inside that part of the boat, and see if it leaks water. That would obviously be conclusive evidence that the damage is deep.
