I was recently offered a 1976 Sunfish for free. The daggerboard and rudder are rough and weathered, but still usable until I can replace them. However, there are no mast, sail, or booms. I've priced what they would cost new, since I can't find any used, and figured out that I would be better off buying a used boat that is ready to sail (and I've found a couple of candidates, a Byte and 16' Hobie Cat). However, if someone has what I need from this forum, I could be sailing my new Sunfish in a few months. I condition isn't too much of a concern, as long as I can sail. I'm not fleet racing (yet ), and I am not looking to win beauty contests. I just would like to be able to do some lake sailing in the local mountains. Thanks!
