A global sailboat company is seeking a high caliber Marketing Executive to be responsible for N. American marketing activities. The selected candidate will manage and deploy our efforts in advertising, public relations, e-marketing, events, boats shows and merchandising. Position: Marketing Executive Location: Portsmouth, RI Responsibilities • Develop an annual marketing plan including objectives and tactics that supports both the company’s strategies and goals. • Manage the N. American marketing budget. Deliver all marketing activity within agreed budget. • Track and communicate the results of key initiatives. • Insure all agency briefs are delivered complete and on time • Achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage in both marine and non-marine based media. • Manage relationships with sales team and retail partners to insure our presence in channel is consistent and strong. • Develop and deploy non-traditional marketing solutions that get our message in front of our target audience. • Responsible for relationships with key sponsors and event organizers. • Develop strong working relationships with other members of the global marketing team. Requirements • A firm understanding of organized sailing is mandatory. Experience in industry is preferred. • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities. • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills. • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media. • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications. • Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout. • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams. • Strong oral and written communications skills. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time. • Some out-of-town, overnight travel is required. • Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations. • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations.
