Hey. I sail on J24s and soon some other big boats, but my cheap West Marine shoes started chewing up my ankles and falling apart themselves. Any ideas of what brands are good for that kind of stuff? I was looking on apsltd.com and West Marine, and feel like asking around before I use all that money. I'm looking for something styled like a sneaker. NOT HIKING BOOTS... remember... Not a laser we're talking about here. :p Thanks guys!

I find that my sperry top siders by new balence are great. Good grip, very comfortable, not that bad when wet. I got them at west marine as well. They are white and yellow. Mind you, I am also bow on a J22.

Yesterday I borrowed some sailing shoes from teva that worked wonderfully. They were on the expensive side though, about $90.
