    Hola.

I race my laser at the club level on the thursday night beer can races and on the every other sunday series plus I travel to race around the area at times.

My question is...do you guys carry insurance on your laser to cover hitting somebody else's boat (laser or big boat on the race course).

    regards.

You should at least have liability insurance in case you injure someone. Insurance against damage to the boat is up to you. This type of insurance is usually an addition to your house insurance. Not likely you would get a marine policy as dinghys are not that pricey.
You can bet that if you injure someone their lawyer will argue that they were budding brain surgeons and now they have been rendered incapable of doing anything other than living off the multi-million dollar settlement.
