Bungee Repair Links
This is a cut and paste from a previous post. Good luck, however it is a pretty simple task.
"Here are a few links (http://capri14.org/forum/showthread.php?t=519, http://capri14.org/forum/showthread.php?t=364, http://capri14.org/vb/showthread.php?threadid=95) to a similar...
A very good, inexpensive book for new sailors!
Your post reminded me of the most often used book that I have in my sailing library. The title of the book is "Sailing for Dummies". It is available at Amazon.com...
Thanks!
Thanks to all of you who posted to this thread. It's great to be able to come this forum and have others share their experiences with those of us who are not as experienced in the "care and feeding" of the C-14.2! I would have never, ever thought that waxing the hull would induce drag :o
I Still Learn Something New Every Day!
QUOTE: "Whatever you do, don't bother waxing your boat's wetted surfaces. You won't see them when it's in the water, and wax induces drag."
I would never suggest that someone might be trying to blow a little smoke up my skirt :D, but I really would like...
Stowing the Boom
Chris, I use the bolt thru the tabernacle and run it thru the hole in the goose neck. I rest the other end of the boom on the tie down strap and loosely tie a short rope around the boom and strap for a little additional security. Some folks rest the back end of the boom on the...
Topping Lift, No! Boom Kicker, Si!
Hello Drew!
What you are talking about is called a topping lift. This is a small rope line that is attached to the top of the mast and goes through a cheek block mounted to one side (aft) of the boom and then cleated about midway down the boom. It works ok...
How Funny!
Oh well, maybe the dealer has learned not to overfill the crankcase in the future. I think you will be very pleased with the Honda 2hp now!
Best regards and send some of that rain to North East Texas. The lake levels are getting low around here!

Thanks a million, V!
Thank you very much for your quick and detailed response. I have the slugs and shackles on order from Sail Rite. I found an extra track stop in my junk box. I always kept a spare for my C-25 as I let one go over the side once!. You're right, I will have to file it down a...
Can you help me find a source for the described shackles?
Where did you find the shackles you are describing? I have searched the internet and have not been successful in getting a lead on them. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Location of Cam Cleat
Roger, on my boat the cam cleat is mounted on the floor about 1/2 from the CB slot and about 8" forward of the barney post. It's not in the way at all. It lies directly under the hiking strap.
Mod 3 Center Board Dwg
This drawing is from the Mod 3 owners manual. I don't know how the Mod2 differs, but if you have questions, I'll try to help. Good luck with your project.
I'm trying really hard NOT to have a mental picture of that!
Ha! I'll bet you had oil, soot, smoke and flame coming out of EVERY orifice after that little faux pas! Uh... not you personally Chris. I'm speaking of the Honda! :D
Let us know what the dealer says.
I Think Your Dealer is Incompetent, but Right!
Hey Chris! Sorry you are having problems with the OB. Your quote: "According to the dealer it is possible that they put too much oil in it, but I don't buy that excuse -- I can see an air bubble way up towards the top of the gauge, I think the oil...
Great Job!
That looks great, Chris! You should have been a ship builder. :D
It just shows that with a little research and careful thought
a guy can ususally overcome obsticles very nicely. Congratulations!
P.S. Aren't thoses little Honda 2hps super!
Spreaders - Photo
Here's how mine is attached....The brackets are attached with stainless sheet metal screws. The spreaders are attached with clevis pins and ring dingies.
Sure glad you got your mast in time! :D
Flotation....
I think I know what you are talking about and how it is used....a triangular device, maybe? If so, it goes over the top of the main. First you slide it up over the bottom of the mast, pointed end up, before you step the mast. Run the main halyard down through the center and...
I like to remove the battens from the main before folding the sail and stuffing it and the battens in the sail bag. Being an orderly kind of guy I have been keeping them together with a rubber band which get misplaced almost every time I remove it to reinsert the battens.
While doing some...
