Looks like one race only today (1/5):

By now you will probably have seen TV ads for the Flex Seal line of products for sealing and waterproofing. Gorilla appears to market similar products, I think.
Have any of you actually used one of these products and if so, what kind of repairs did you do and what was the outcome?
Thanks from...
Sunfish racing is included in the ongoing PanAm games in Chile, both for the ladies and the men. For the USA, Conner Blouin and Amanda Callahan are the representatives. Canada is represented by Parkhill in the men's division.
The first day wasn't a happy one for the US team :( but Parkhill did...
With cold fingers it's nice to just use a Fastpin to attach the vang (Harken) to the vang tang on the mast. However, I have had two 'failures' recently with the pin coming out while sailing. This is pretty disastrous because one can't fix this on the water (without outside help). Moreover, the...
Trying to pick up some advice from the pros.
I really like the ability to unhook the clew of the sail as I get close to a dock so that I can drift in and make fast. For me, the (Harken) clew hook has worked well, but it may not be super secure in big wind. I find a clew strap difficult to undo...
This year’s Sunfish Worlds are about to begin. The competition will be on Lake Garda, near Torbole (Northern Italy), a gorgeous place from the pictures and a well-known mecca for high-level sailing events.
Some notes, which may be off-base (totally).
Originally, Laser Performance had promised...
LP recently introduced a new single hander, built in Portugal. They called it the PortStar.
They are showing the boat at the current RYA dinghy show (near London). But what's that 'thing' in the background?
It does look like LP hasn't given up on marketing the Sunfish in the European market. Hurrah!
Assume one has to jibe prior to the next upwind leg, about 10 knots of wind and a bunch of other boats nearby.
What's the best time to lower the daggerboard? About a boat length away from the mark, or earlier? There's so much to do and I have only two hands...
One hundred expert racers on the line in Sarasota (FL) tomorrow (Monday 10/25). Who do you favor for the win; one of the prior Words Champs? There are quite a few of them.
Participants are about evenly distributed between the US and other countries; I counted
Bahamas 1
Bonaire 7
Chili 7...
The For Sale section shows a boat that, I think, is a Sunfish clone.
Antique Sunfish Sailboat | SailingForums.com
Can someone please identify what it is?
Thanks! :)
Our friend Lee Montes just posted another video on his YouTube channel that should be of interest to many of us.
How to Rig A Racing Sunfish Sailboat | Sunfish Sailing - YouTube
In fact, all the videos on his channel have good info, whether you are a hardy racer or a beginner Sunfish sailor.
Over eighty boats racing; that's an excellent turnout.
After Day 1, Jose Hernandez (from Guatemala) is leading with Caterina Romero (from Peru) in second.

Anyone on this Forum participating?
It is my sad duty to report that Dick passed away the morning of October 15 with his three daughters by his side.
He received many accolades over the years as a true Corinthian sailor and a (world class) champion in more classes than almost anyone. Dick may be best known for his book on...
Quite some time ago, I was in a week-long Laser 'camp' with an instructor who told us to practice 'rudderless' sailing. Not really rudderless, because the rudder was left in the water, but we did tie the tiller with shock cord to the strap. No hands on the tiller, obviously. It was a good...
Trailex has changed the suspension of its 'classic' Sunfish trailer (SUT-200-S) and has run out of certain replacement parts for this version.
The shop that services my trailer told me that one of the spindles on the axle needs to be replaced, but Trailex doesn't have the part (anymore).
What...
I would like to find out how to attach a cleat for the halyard without making holes in the mast.
Sounds a bit crazy, but I will be chartering a new (!) fish from LP and the company doesn't want me to drill holes in the mast.
The cleat will carry a heavy load because the boat will be sailed in...
