Here are some photos of the Charles W Morgan which is undergoing a 3 year restoration at Mystic Seaport. The CWM is the last remaining wooden whaling ship.

Enjoy!!!

I used to live in Gayles Ferry, CT in fact I learned to sail on the Thames river out of the Navy base.

Several times when I was a kid my dad would take us to Mystic Seaport, even on the Balboa 20 :D

Its great to see she is being restored. I look forward to visiting her in the future with my kids.

I grew up sailing in Mystic... acutally... I still have a 32' Cape Dory there.I spent my childhood on that ship with my grandfather. Is she still part of the attactions at Mystic Seaport while she is undergoing renovations? I think that would be insanely interesting to watch the progress.

I don't know how limited or restrictive it will be.

It's definitely worth checking out.

In the meantime, the Mystic Seaport website has been posting progress updates.
